Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver in La Paz
Diving with Nitrox
Nitrox diving is used a lot in places where the attractions are deeper than usual, and we try to lengthen the bottom time without going into deco. It is very useful in pelagic dives, for example, such as those made in the Revillagigedo archipelago.
Description
The EANx certification allows you to learn how to dive with air with a higher oxygen content, which will allow you to have more bottom time at certain depths.
This certification can be obtained in 1 day, which makes it ideal for people who dive regularly.

Itinerary
You will discuss managing oxygen exposure.
You will practice analyzing the oxygen content of your scuba tank.
You will set your dive computer to dive with enriched air nitrox.
Must have PADI Open Water certification and be at least 12 years old.
Included
Scuba equipment.
E-learning materials.
Not Included
Alcoholic drinks.
You must bring
Ecofriendly sunscreen.
Bathing suit.
Are you tired of seeing your dives end just as the action begins?
In a practical way, you will train to analyze the oxygen content of your own cylinder, eliminating guesswork and ensuring the correct blend. Finally, you will know how to adjust your dive computer to the exact Nitrox percentage, a crucial step to unlock your additional bottom time. The Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) course is not just a specialty; it is the single investment that guarantees you an immediate and quantifiable increase in your bottom time, an unparalleled advantage that has made it the world’s most popular course. Forget the pressures of traditional air’s no-decompression limits. With Nitrox, you gain the ability to drastically extend your underwater explorations, especially on repetitive dives and during your precious vacations. If your goal is more time with manta rays, more minutes on that epic wreck, or simply feeling less fatigued at the end of the day, Nitrox is the key that unlocks extra hours in the blue world.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the real and immediate benefit of Nitrox?
The direct benefit is extending your bottom time (No-Decompression Limit – NDL). By using Nitrox, you breathe less nitrogen than with air. Less nitrogen means your tissues saturate slower, allowing you to stay longer at the depth where the greatest attractions are found, especially during repetitive dives on multi-day trips. In many cases, Nitrox can double your safe bottom time at moderate depths (18-30 meters).
Does Nitrox allow me to dive deeper?
No! This is the biggest myth in diving. Nitrox is not for going deeper, but for staying longer at moderate depths (typically between 18 and 30 meters). In fact, the higher oxygen content in the mixture imposes a stricter maximum operating depth (MOD) limit than air, due to the risk of oxygen toxicity. The course will teach you precisely how to calculate and respect this safety limit for each mixture.
Will I feel less tired after dives with Nitrox?
Many divers consistently report a reduced feeling of fatigue or “dive hangover” after a day of dives with Nitrox. Although the science behind the reduction of fatigue is still debated, the lower absorption of nitrogen in your body translates into a better sense of well-being and faster recovery between dives. This is a huge benefit for any diver who wants to maximize their vacation days.
How complex is the course and what exactly will I learn?
The course is surprisingly fast, with the theory and practical sessions able to be completed in just one day (or less with eLearning).
Do I need to buy special equipment to dive with Nitrox?
Not necessarily. For recreational blends (up to 40% oxygen), your standard diving equipment (wetsuit, fins, mask) is perfectly compatible. However, your dive computer must have the Nitrox function, and your cylinders must be properly labeled. The course thoroughly covers the compatibility of your equipment to ensure you dive with complete safety and efficiency.
