Diving in Socorro Islands

Diving in the Revillagigedo Archipelago

Dive in Socorro Island, San Benedicto Island, Clarion Point, and Roca Partida

Socorro Islands is undoubtedly one of the most impressive destinations for diving enthusiasts from all over the world. It is an archipelago formed by four volcanic islands located about 250 miles off the coast of Baja California Sur. Socorro Island, San Benedicto, Clarion and Roca Partida are the names of these small islands that offer an authentic oasis of marine life in the ocean. It’s no wonder it’s popularly known as the “Mexican Galapagos” and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Natural Site.

To reach this remote location, about 24 hours of navigation are required, and you can only dive in Socorro Islands by joining a liveaboard diving trip. Once there, you can enjoy a paradise with over 700 marine species, including incredible oceanic giant mantas, friendly dolphins, whale sharks, or huge schools of different shark species. But undoubtedly, one of the most exciting and spectacular moments is when humpback whales visit these waters during the winter months. Listening to their songs while diving and even having close encounters with these marine giants is an experience that cannot be forgotten.
