Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a very theoretical course or will I get wet a lot?
Mainly practical! Although there is knowledge development, most of the course focuses on practicing rescue exercises and simulations in confined waters and, above all, in open waters. The goal is for rescue techniques to become instinctive.
What certification do I need to have before enrolling in Rescue Diver?
You need to have at least the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or an equivalent certification) and, mandatory, a valid CPR and First Aid training (such as the EFR course) within the last 24 months.
What is the most important thing I will learn and what will change my diving?
You will learn to prevent problems before they occur and to manage stress (yours and others’). You will move from focusing only on your own diving to being fully aware of your surroundings and your buddies, transforming you into an effective rescuer and gaining unwavering confidence.
Is it a necessary step to advance professionally in diving?
The PADI Rescue Diver is a mandatory requirement and the essential foundation for those aspiring to a professional career, being the step immediately prior to the PADI Divemaster course.
